Ik schilder voornamelijk in een abstracte stijl, zowel met olieverf als acrylverf. Soms verwerk ik er materialen als zand, papier en stof in, deze geven het oppervlak letterlijk en figuurlijk meerdere lagen. Hoewel het niet perse mijn insteek is om spirituele schilderijen te maken, geeft mijn werk regelmatig de suggestie van een andere dimensie. In ieder geval zijn mijn schilderijen een directe uitdrukking van wat er in mij leeft, aangezien ik volledig op gevoel schilder. I mainly work in an abstract style. I like to paint with oil paint as well as acrylics. Sometimes I use materials like sand, paper and fabric, they provide the surface with multiple layers, literally and figuratively. Although it is not necessarily my approach to make spiritual paintings, my work often gives the suggestion of another dimension. Jazzy: Schilderij in opdracht
Dit schilderij in acrylverf (100 x 120 cm) maakte ik voor in de woonkamer van een echtpaar in Zevenaar. Vooraf bespraken we uitgebreid hun voorkeuren wat betreft stijl, formaat, technieken en kleuren.
Desondanks vraag ik bij het maken van een schilderij in opdracht veel artistieke vrijheid. Ik laat me namelijk grotendeels leiden door mijn intuïtie en reageer ter plaatse wat er op het doek gebeurt. Een eindresultaat laat zich van te voren dus nooit helemaal voorspellen.

Jazzy: Commissioned painting
I made this painting in acrylic paint (39,3 x 37,2 inch) for of a Dutch couple. Beforehand, we discussed extensively their preferences regarding style, format, techniques and colors extensively. Nevertheless, I ask a lot of artistic freedom when making a commissioned painting. For the most part I am guided by my intuition and react on the spot to what happens on the canvas. An end result can therefore never be fully predicted in advance.

Isurus
This work has something mysterious. This is partly due to the soft, subtle turquoise, beige and light blue, and to the refined way in which these pastel colors blend into each other like in a dreamlike mist. Sometimes, however, these different shades also form very strong contrasts, for instance in the pronounced dark purple at the top. The mystery of this work is enhanced by the strange shapes that are attached to it. They are reminiscent of gills, which is why the work is called 'Isurus' (shark). Click here for a short video.

Celestopia
Waar de verschillende grijstinten enigszins melancholisch aandoen, stralen de witte en gele verfstreken juist warmte uit. De opwaartse beweging en de dikke verfstreken wekken de suggestie van omhoog fladderende (engelen)vleugels. Daarom heet dit schilderij 'Celestopia, aangezien 'Ciel' hemel betekent.
Whereas the various shades of gray appear somewhat melancholy, the white and yellow paint strokes exude warmth. The upward movement and the thick paint strokes suggest upward fluttering (angelic) wings. That is why this painting is called 'Celestopia', since 'Ciel' means heaven.
